If I have time I would definetly get into DNNMenu and write up at least a basic howto guide, etc. This would help move this project forward.

Wow, I'm confused here now Salar..

These are completely contradicting each other - I understand sitting on the fence for whatever reason, but honestly

previous post -

SalarO has made a conservative decision to  only developer DNNMenu on custom skins if it is asked. Otherwise we still prefer to use Solpart as we understand it well and know its limitations.

this post  after I replied -

Solpartmenu has been around for a long time. Some of its dependencies goes a long way back to set of browsers that no longer exists. As the result of that it has grown too large. A Dinosaur that needs a more nimble and lighter replacement to reflect the needs of today browsers on both PC and Mac platform.

This is definitely sending out mixed messages to me... Although it's better and lighter and been around since 2005, you're waiting another six months before it gets better?  Nurturing since 2005 - it will be a dinosaur before it gets to maturation at this rate don't you think? Perhaps you can speed up the knowledge base a little by providing us with some of the menus you've done for your clients so we can learn from that too.. :-D  Do you have links to your commercial skins you've done using the Nav Menu?

I'm confused about the response - and while I appreciate Jon Henning's talent, I think you'd have at least as much input based on the fact you're a commercial skinner and base your business on it, so that also has some value here, but now I'm honestly not sure what you think and I believe you have also some valid opinions, based on experience too.

Our decision to continue with solpartmenu is purely due to the fact that we develop skins for all versions of DNN. Which means we would need to use Solpart.

We do have a project internally to research and explore the possible issues/browser compatibility etc... for DNNMENU. However, this project would indeed take at least 4-6 months before we are ready and confident to use it on a customer site. We fully appreciate that in 6 months time there would be little reason to stay with Solpart.

Smaller developer site done by coders and capable people that understand CSS and can manage any issues themselves should most certainly indulge and go for it by using DNNMenu. Our customers that accept the hard edges to DNNMenu will also get DNNmenu - However so far we have not had any such customers. This will change with time.

Dear dnn-fellows

First
I'm very thankful that Jon Henning does so much work for this community.
But,
I struggle now about a year trying to understand all the parts of the solpartmenu and the dnnmenu. I understand about 80% I think (of course it can be me...)
I've never seen a good explanation and see how the different parts are working. I mean an explanation that people understand if English is not her native language.
I know also that a few thinks do not work... Sometimes because of a bug, sometimes because IE or Firefox has a bug. Some properties are not working at this time, perhaps in the future. Not all is clear for me. And, when I ask something in this forum, especially about the thinks that make the menu beautiful for instance a hover possibility for the tabbed root menu.

I didn't got a answer...
