I have a client wanting to go live Friday so the sooner I can find this out the better...

I cannot find ANY documentation on the new <dnn:NAV> skin object.  The latest documents in the DNN downloads are for version 4.4.1 and they only talk about the SolPartMenu.  What are all the options for this new skin object?  The only ones listed in the default DNN Blue skin are:

  • CSSControl
  • CSSContainerRoot
  • CSSNode
  • CSSNodeRoot
  • CSSIcon
  • CSSContainerSub
  • CSSBreak
  • CSSNodeHover
  • NodeLeftHTMLBreadCrumbRoot

Where's the options for a vertical menu?  To only show child tabs?  To be recursive or not?  To customize the menu_down.gif image?  To style the active tab differently?  Help!

Best source I've found so far is:

This is a start, thanks for the heads up.

I also found this blog entry that has some info and a link to a pdf with more info:

I am just shocked that this menu has been around for well over a year and there is still little documentation on it--especially considering that it is the default DNN menu.

I am trying to put a second menu in my skin that has only the child pages of a given tab id.  Has anyone gotten this to work?

I tried playing around with the options "NavNodeOptions" and "StartTabId" but these do not seem to work.  No matter what I try I always get the full menu.

That's from this document: "DotNetNuke Navigation Controls Prerelease Version"
Available on this page: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Projects/CoreWebControls/Downloads/tabid/874/Default.aspx

You'll find that the DNNMenu doesn't do nearly as much stuff as solpart, so you might have to switch.

I'd agree with this, while DNNMenu has been out for a while, it can be quite time-consuming to skin correctly and even with it's numerous annoyances, Solpart is probably going to give the fastest results for skinning and help w/ skinning. The other option is a 3rd part menu system like HouseMenu from houseofnuke.com which outputs to a bulleted list format which you can then apply a myriad of CSS styles to. It does sound like you're on a heck of a tight deadline, hope it works out for you.
