I cant find any usable DNNMenu documention.  All I want to know is how to use the menu in a site , for instance how do I make a menu  parent a heading instead of a link.  The more I use DNN the more Im finding  lack of documentation (or just very well hidden).

I think it would be good if all developers of this system started to at least inline document what things were doing within the source as they write them and I dont mean little comments I mean real full blown descriptions.  Even the css files could do with with some sort of commenting. I have spoken to quite a few developers and users now that starting using dotnetnuke and simply ditched it for other cms's because its so difficult to work out whats going on.

I must admit after using it for a few months now Im getting at bit at ends with it myself

the webcontrols project and blog @http://www.dotnetnuke.com/DotNetNukeProjects/CoreWebControls/tabid/873/DNNMenu.aspx is the best resource for this kind of information.

Yes it is hard to come to grips with and there is almost no useful information in the online help. You should just go up and down every single page of options in your portal and try and figure out what each thing does. Perhaps build a portal just for trashing. Also, go and get DNNCreative's subscription as that has a ton of useful videos. Come back to the forums whenever something doesn't work. Share whatever you learn with others in the forum.

Your menu issue should be solved by going into the page settings for that menu item and ticking the 'disabled' box.
