Hi,

I'm new to DNN skinning, and want to play around with it.  I noted in the sticky thread in here that "If you are looking for other skins - try downloading the 3.013 build in the archives and unzipping".  I understand that, but don't know what "3.013" means.  It seems to be a typo, as I can't find a 3.013 release anywhere.  Could someone please tell me which release has the extra skins in it, and where to get to it?

Thanks.

The 3.013 build is a legacy build and I haven't seen a download linked off the DotNetNuke Website it a long while.  You can download the legacy software from Sourceforge.  You just extract the build and the skin files are located in the usual place.  You can either copy them to your server and refresh the files, or you can create a skin package and upload it.  They don't have the 3.0.13 build listed but the 3.1.1 build is and I think it has the same files.  You can find the build on this sourceforge page, http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=77052&package_id=77939.  It is down towards the bottom of the page.

The skins in there might be a little boring, so you might also want to browse around for some freebies to mess with http://www.google.com/search?q=free+dotnetnuke+skins

Yeah, I suggest using google, or checking marketplace, snowcovered, and other sites offerening skins. You can quickly find a bunch of cheap / free skins. Most of which are built around the 4.0+ format which uses asp.net 2.0 core. Not that it matters with the skin, but you will quickly find DNN 4.0+ skins tend to be more complex / interesting then older skins.

I kind of new also. I downloanded some skins but don't know how to upload them. I tried selecting skins from the Amin panel, and clicking on the upload skins at the bottom of the page. It takes me to a screen where I can browse to my HD and select the skin. I've tried selecting every file in the folder but it says none of them are valid skin files, the error is "Invalid File Extension For Skin Package skin.css." Any ideas. Thanks.
