How do I remove home from appearing in the menu?

I am using HouseMenu (vertical) and the friend I am helping with this site doesn't want home to appear in the menu - as it is a type of Splash page, with links to some sections of the main site.

I've unchecked the 'appear in menu' box in page settings but it still shows in the menu!

Please help!

If you've unchecked the "appear in menu" option in the settings of the page and the item is still in the menu, I would clear the cache and also check to see if the 3rd party menu provides any properties that allow for exclusions.

Your "Home" page works a bit funky when it comes to the menus. You can set any page you want to be the "default" page / home page. Then the page titled home becomes just like any other page.

HouseMenu as well as many other menus lable the Home page with its own custom tag, that is something like HousemenuHomeItem they do this so you can style the home menu item differently if you want.

I managed to remove home from the menu - not sure if others I assumed I knew this - I removed it from the HomePage in Site Settings and set it as the Splash Page. I've not changed those before, but I didn't expect them to affect the menu.

Thanks for the tips too - other things to think about!
