Hi,

I am wondering if I can change the navmenu to be a links menu. Now when I click a menu item, I get a postback and than navugating to the wanted page. This is not very SEO Friendly. I saw in dnncreative that I should use the HouseofNuke menu but I'd like to know if the navmenu is configurable to has the same functionality as the House of Nuke menu. If so, how do I do that?

P.S. I am using DNN 5.0

Thank you,

Dor Raba.

HouseOfNuke is not the only one. There is also some cools menus from http://www.DNN360.net as well and is very easy to configure.

The detail about DNN Menu and SEO is discussed here by Joe Brinkman after the OpenForce Las Vegas event.

I recommend HouseMenu or Snapsis CSS NAV for SEO friendly navigation. Snapsis is more powerful than the HouseMenu and is reasonably priced.

NAV menu cannot SEO, and if you make tabbed, or any fancy shape of the menu, it will become very hard to maintain consistent look on various browsers on Linux, MAC,XP...

I use http://browsershots.org/ as a tool to check for SEO, compability and NAV doesn't provide a good look. http://www.dnn360.net/navsuite is a good site for SEO menu including newly Dotnetnuke.com vertical menu.

Actually, the new Nav menu let's you use ul, li, a tags for the menu making it much more SEO friendly. With RenderMode UnorderedList you can start using direct links to your pages for SEO friendliness. You can find out about it at Jon Henning's site. I'm using it with 5.0.1 (no, not in production), but the new menu can be styled nicely, has some nice ui effects available and, not to mention the SEO friendliness.
