I just created my first skin /container and uploaded it using Host Settings/Upload Skin, and it appears as an extension under Admin and Host, but I cannot figure out how to make it appear as an option when I want to apply the skin to a new page. shouldn't they be under Page/settings/advanced?

Thanks in advance.

Nelson

I think more information is in order:

I created my skin using just HTML, no ascx pages because I wanted to keep a nice design created by a someone else without re-writing it into div tags. I am using community edition, 05.02.03 (74)

When I uploaded a sample skin ("recipe" skin from codeplex) I noticed that it does _a lot_ more parsing than it does on my package. I virtually copied the manifest from the "recipe" skin and just inserted my file names. What triggers the extenstion import to parse the skin and containers? Is there a file naming convention?

Please read the DNN5 skinning thread on top of this Forum for more informationg.

You can parse the skin manually:

A. Login in as Host:
B. Menu:Admin > Skins.
C. Select the skin name in the skin dropdown
D. Click the "Parse Skin Package" link below
