Running DNN 5.6.0

I'm trying to use the Text Size Widget that is in the Minimal Exropy Skin in a custom skin I'm designing but I can't get it to work.

I copied all of the /css/variations files to the same folder in my skin and used the same Object code from the Minimal Extropy index.html

When the page loads, I can see, briefly, a small square where the widget should appear, but then it disappears.  Nothing is rendered

The Widgets are enabled and they work with the Minimal Exrtopy Skin on this site.

What am I doing wrong?  What's the trick?

recopied the Skin Widget code from the Minimal Extropy Skin and recopied the "css/variations" folder and all files and it still doesn't work.

When the page loads, a couple of "placeholders" appear briefly where the Widgets are supposed to appear and then they disappear.

In the footer of the browser there is "1 item remaining" that stays there for a minute or so like somehting is trying to load.

If I change the skin to Minimal Extropy, the Widgets work.

Please, somebody tell me what I'm missing.
