Hi,

I've set a background image for my site that I want to see as the background in my container.

I've tried futzing with the container.css and the container_name.html/ascx files.  I've tried using style properties for background image with the image file name or the background:inherit options.

No luck.  I keep getting a plain white background where the "page" and "container" are.

The container image file is in the Image subdirectory beneath the container_name.html/ascs and container.css files.

1. Where should I set the background image for a container?
2. what format should the directory name info in that setting be in?
3. Even better, can we make the container backround transparent?

Setting the background image is something that typically happens in CSS, but that assumes that the container was developed using standard methods.

The best way to go through it would be to look at this video in our Video Library for how to use Firebug to track down CSS and see what changes will have an impact.

Chris,

I'm using the default containers shipped with the product.

I have 5 simple changes to make (images on top, bottom, and both sides, plus the transparency of the background) and I'm done with the customization other than fonts.

I was hoping that someone knew so I can get on with loading the site contents instead of this... :(

Well, I just fired up FireBug and looked at the default containers, they are wrapped in a class called

.c_container

so in CSS you could use

.c_container{background:blue;} to make the background blue

Chris,

You are right about the background color of blue.

As I mentioned, I'm looking for transparent so a background image for the entire page shows through.

Unfortunately, there are apparently many "things" underneath the container that remain opaque.

After muddling thru Firebug for awhile, I've found out how to identify which file is setting which value and walk up the hierarchy until I find the culprit.

The skin.css file class content_pad has a white background. Changing it to transparent (plus all the container stuff) just worked for parts of some modules. I'll keep digging.

Thanks for your help. It's going to take some hours to fix this the way I want, but at least I"m making progress during those hours!
