Hi All

I've successfully been creating a few skins for clients and watched a few tutorials.  I've been using firebug to check and modify my css and that's great for finding and fixing problems.  Something I would like a little more information on to help my DNN understanding is things like the following taken from firebug in the Announcements module.

<div class="maincontainer">
<div class="containerstars">
<div id="dnn_ctr575_ContentPane">
<div id="dnn_ctr575_ModuleContent" class="DNNModuleContent ModDNNAnnouncementsC">
<table class="DNN_ANN_DesignTable" cellspacing="0" summary="Announcements Design Table" border="0" style="border-collapse: collapse; ">
</div>
</div>

maincontainer and containerstars are classes from my container design so that's fine.  But what I would like to know is classes and id's such as id="dnn_ctr575_ContentPane",  id="dnn_ctr575_ModuleContent" and class="DNNModuleContent ModDNNAnnouncementsC".

They generally don't appear in any of css files so I was wondering what their relevance is to skinning and whether they can or should be styled and how.

Any help to improve my understanding would be appreciated.

Regards

Ian

Ian, the classes with "ctr575" in its name are inserted by ASP.Net. Classes "DNNModuleContent" for all modules and "ModDNNAnnouncementsC" for Announcement module are inserted by DNN to enable you to style modules in general and all Announcement modules.

Thanks Sebastian.

So they could be styled in the skin.css or the module.css etc? So I assume there are a range of classes and id's that are inherent to dotnetnuke and not necessarily part of a stylesheet?

Is a list of these available somewhere? Should they be styled or is it best to use other styles instead of them?

Ian

Thanks Sebastian

Might have replied to the wrong post on this one.  Any answers to my other queries?

Ian
