Please see the example skins.  The css files only need to be named properly and located in the proper location relative to the skin and the skinning engine will link the css files in the proper order for you.

Hi, I'm new to DNN and I'd love to look at the example skins as references for building my own skin, but I can't seem to find them. Where are they?

You know in the default installation, in the _default/Skins/dnn-blue and dnn-gray - you will see quite a few files that are excellent examples of how the skins are created.

I have some free skins and a video that explains some of the basics to get you started, but since I only use the ascx method, I don't have any of the htm or xml files in the folders to look at.  If you were to open some of the skin zips from my site you could see a couple of different methods of working with CSS.

You're welcome to download them and have a look. There's even a couple of flash skins.  Currently I've tested them all in the latest DNN 3 & 4 without any problems.

Thanks. Much appreciated. I've found the skins in the default download and I've downloaded another skin from your site.

It appears that I simply need to name the css file "skin.css" and DNN will automatically associate it with the skins? Is this correct? I don't see any code in the skin files where it calls the .css file.

Also, are there any benefit to developing my skins as ascx as opposed to html? The Skinning Guide in the Documents download gives an html example, which looks fairly simple, but you say that you only use the ascx method. Any reason?
