I've been trying for hours to figure out how to change the font on the root level of the main menu when it is displayed vertically. I've sucessfully changed the font color with the .MainMenu_MenuItem and .MainMenu_MenuItemSel classes but the font-size and font-family have no effect. No matter what I set them to I still get Tahoma, 9pt. Why are my settings not having any effect? Am I in the wrong place, obviously? Where can I set the font-family and font-size for the root menu items? I am displaying the menu vertically and have had no problems changing the sub-menu items, I just can't figure out how to change the root menu items. Could someone PLEASE save my sanity with a helpful reply. Thanks!

In which file are you changing the font? Inheritance can be causing this.

Vertical Display: For HTML skins add Display as a Setting Name and Vertical as the Setting Value in the the XML file. Then parse the skin. In .ascx skins add a display property to the menu tag and set it to vertical

I'm changing the sin.css file.

I've figured out how to display the skin vertically - that's not the problem. The problem is I'm unable to change the font and font size for the menu items in the root of the main menu.

Sorry, my last post contained a typo: that's Skin.css, not sin.

Dear GrfxDan73

I've looked at your website were you want to set another font-size and font-family.
First you've used the following .css code in your skin.css (in default.css you've set the menu styles twices...):

.MainMenu_MenuItem {
  ...
  FONT-FAMILY: Arial Narrow, Helvetica;
  ...
}
and the same code for

.MainMenu_MenuItemSel {
  ...
  FONT-FAMILY: Arial Narrow, Helvetica;
  ...
}

You must know that you can't set a font-family with a space in the name like Arial Narrow if you don't use brackets. Try to use this code:

.MainMenu_MenuItem {
  ...
  FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial Narrow', Helvetica;
  ...
}

   Hope this will help.
