My column widths fluctuate, even though I have gone into the skin and component AND site CSS and added "width=175" to both the columns in question (right and left pane).

What am I doing wrong? The column size still seems to be determined by the length of the pane's headline, rather than any CSS settings I adjust.

Try removing the 100% width of the ContentPane class -I have found this often makes a difference.

But, for instance, I have two text modules in the left pane.

one is wide title of "PACT Workshops"  which means the whole module is narrow, compared to

"Know someone who's perfect for PACT?"

why is one wide and the other narrow? the column then is odd:

Ok, I find the portal ( in my case it's at <root> /portals/0   and find portal.css

but the content pane class is empty.

so it's in the Containers/<skin name>

which would I modify?

thanks!
