I tried to access my test site with the following user agent 'Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; PPC)'. With this (and a couple of other UA headers), the Solpartmenu simply disappears completely. My current understanding is, that SolPartmenu will render horizontally, whenever it is not guaranteed, that needed scripting support is available. Also in a horizontal rendered menu, the top level menu bar items will still rely on scripting (__doPostBack), what seems to me as not the safest way for older and/or limited browsers.

I'm using the last version 1.7 of SolpartMenu - currently I have no idea where to look for to keep the menu visible.

thanks for pointing me to spmenucaps.config. I did see that file and my understanding was, that the menu will be rendered horizontally, whenever nothing explicit is to be found in that config. Or the other way around: whenever a guy comes with an UA not configured, he couldn't do anything in my web...

Didn't you agree, that it would be a more friedly way to show something senseful, that nothing ?

the example UA is from a mobile device (a PDA), but shortened for testing purposes. You may reproduce the behaviour by simulation

• take Mozilla Firefox (tested with 1.5.0.8)
• take the User Agent Switcher Plugin from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/59/
• configure the UA 'Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; PPC)' for the plugin
• select the freshly configured user agent
• surf to http://www.solpart.com ;)

... then the menu is invisible. I have reproduced that with a Palm Tungsten/c (w/o any simulation) on our site at http://dnn.atbit2.de (still under construction) also.
