I am doing requirements for a new website. the initial graphical design is done, so we know what we want it to look and feel like. now I am wondering whether DNN can be modified to work with this look.
Can anyone say with some degree of certainty whether the layout in the following screenshot can be made to work with DDN skins and/or some programming?

Obviously I'd like to get a positive answer, but I'd rather get an honest one. The DDN demo and some of the showcase sites look very promising.

Thanks in advance.

it depends on the modules you use, but in general it shall be possible to be implemented. Have a look at www.catalook.net for an appropriate shop module.

Learning to create a DNN skin is not as simple as it is often made out to be, but once one has figured it out, the sample in the image would be reasonably easy to do.

That is however only the beginning: DNN modules have a habit of not looking or fitting anything like you want them to... so more often than not, the hardest part of skinning a site in DNN is making the required/desired modules fit the skin. The DNN container system doesn't skin the modules.

Judging from the look of the site there, but not knowing the budget nor the remaining requirements, I would certainly not dismiss the dedicated cart systems such as Zen Cart, Cre-loaded or any of many others around. Ig you're not already well-versed in DNN, then you might save yourself an awful lot of work and a steep learning curve. I've done the same myself for specific ecommmerce sites and remain highly satisfied with the results.

Go with DNN if you find that there is some must-have feature that it provides, but spend time assessing other tools as well.
