Hi, just a quick question that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere. When creating a new skin for DNN, it still seems to inherit a bunch of styles unless I specifically overwrite them in the skin.css file of my new skin. Is there a way to turn this off / stop this happening that I've missed? So in effect, if I do not define a style it does not default to DNN standard but defaults to no style?

Cheers,
Tristan.

For the menu control we have attribute cleardefaults you should make it true.but for remaining skin objects i can't say anything.

The default loading of styles is due to the style sheet included in the page at run time. You should overwrite the default styles at least just define the name of styles not the body of styles.

But i think it will pick the default styles even if you define the name of styles not the body of styles.

The default styles are in  <root>/portals/_default/default.css

You can clear that stylesheet out if you want, but there are some default styles for action menu, etc. that you may want to keep.

Here's another tip on default styles
