Hi.

I have created a module that allows a user to insert some text into a database (a simple news module with 6 or 7 fields). I have created an edit screen for this module. You can now push every news article and get directly to the edit part of the module. This i where my headache starts. What is the best way to get one row out of the database and into the fields, so the edit part of the module looks exactly like the insert part of the module only with the fields already filled in.

I have tried to use a datagrind and then put out the values from the database with a repeater. However, this doesn't seem like a very smart way to do it.

Is there a better command when you know you want only one row of data from the database?

Hi again. Sorry about the typo in my previous message. Guess I was a little tired.

I meant:
"I have tried to use a dataadapter to get the data from the database and then put it into a dataset"
(and after that I used the repeater to fill out the fields).

Thanks!

I suggest, you have a look at the tutorial and demo modules from Core Team member Michael Washington, see dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com.
