I hae a need to manually create and update user accounts via the code-behind of a module that I am building.

I think i have everything that I need for the update.  To update I use the user controller to get the account, then I can run updates on the membership object to set the password etc.

Where I am running into issues are with account creation.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Can you tell us little more about exactly where you are having the problem and what happens (doesn't happen).  Any error messages will help.

I have manually created users using this code:

Dim user as new UserInfo()
User.Profile.InitialiseProfile(PortalId)

User.Username = Username
User.Email = Email
User.DisplayName = DisplayName
User.FirstName = FirstName
User.LastName = LastName
User.PortalID = PortalId

User.Profile.FirstName = FirstName
User.Profile.LastName = LastName
User.Profile.Unit = Unit
User.Profile.Street = Street
User.Profile.City = City
User.Profile.PostalCode = PostalCode
User.Profile.Telephone = Telephone
User.Profile.PreferredLocale = "es-US"

User.Membership.Password = "abcdef1" 'UserController.GeneratePassword()
User.Membership.Email = Email
User.Membership.Approved = True

Dim uscre As DotNetNuke.Security.Membership.UserCreateStatus
uscre = UserController.CreateUser(User)

well expiration is really a function of the role

DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserRoleInfo.ExpiryDate

isnt this what you would be looking for - to expire all roles or something like that

I need to drop this into Iweb. I have been meaning put in a create user method but I havn't found the time to dig through the Core code to figure out exactly what needs to be set ect. Is that ok with you?

Dim user as new UserInfo()
User.Profile.InitialiseProfile(PortalId)

User.Username = Username
User.Email = Email
User.DisplayName = DisplayName
User.FirstName = FirstName
User.LastName = LastName
User.PortalID = PortalId

User.Profile.FirstName = FirstName
User.Profile.LastName = LastName
User.Profile.Unit = Unit
User.Profile.Street = Street
User.Profile.City = City
User.Profile.PostalCode = PostalCode
User.Profile.Telephone = Telephone
User.Profile.PreferredLocale = "es-US"

User.Membership.Password = "abcdef1" 'UserController.GeneratePassword()
User.Membership.Email = Email
User.Membership.Approved = True

Dim uscre As DotNetNuke.Security.Membership.UserCreateStatus
uscre = UserController.CreateUser(User)
