You can download all this from the Publisher page for the book. http://www.apress.com/book/view/9781590597675

Thanks,
But simply downloading something doesn not solve our problem.
By creating a module called TimePunch, there should have been a file created called TimePunch.SqlDataProvider.

If I go to create my own module for an actual project and call the module invoicing, there certainly won't be a site for me to go to and download a file called invoicing.SqlDataProvider.

What we are trying to find out is why this file was not created like the book says it is supposed to be.

I have not read this book, but from what I can gather from the download I posted you are creating a new module. And that is where the files come in. This module is not part of the DNN framework and is why you don't have it in the DNN download. Now whether the book explains the process accurately or not is something I don't know. If its not clear then you should probably add an errata or bug report on the publisher's site linked above. The file you are asking for is in the download I linked. I think its the chapter 8 folder.

For your invoicing.sqldataprovider. If you create a new module then that is something you will need to create and populate with code to perform your function.

If you are using the compiled module template included in the DNN Starter Kit, then the file should have been created. I just starte work on a couple of new modules this weekend and using the template all the needed files where created, but I still have to update the files to reflect the function I'm working to accomplish. This will be true of any module you create.

You actually dont need the missing file, it is referring to an earlier version of dnn4x

You have actually achieved what is required - now look up how to install the module as 'host'

I have managed to get past that page, will post further if you would like

I eventually got the thing running (albeit unsuccessfully) to the state it needs extensive debugging on the gui side (It is always recording Punch IN data, never changing to Punch Out ! - probably I have done something wrong in the last chapter on this edit)

I keep crashing now - will create a new thread (I will post progress on the book if you need)
