Hi,

I'm running DNN 4.8.0. I've been attempting to add code that will update a user profile property that I added (called UUID). I saw some examples that used ProfileCommon and mentioned adding a Profile tag to the web.config. Unfortunately, this did not work for me and resulted in an error saying "The settings property 'UUID' was not found.". I'm not sure if it matters or not but I am attempting to update the property in the cmdLogin_Click in Login.aspx.vb.

Also it seems ProfileCommon cannot be used unless there is the reference made in the web.config. I'm stuck, any advice is extremely appreciated.

You can try code similar to the one given below-

DotNetNuke.Entities.Profile.

profileProperty = objUserInfo.Profile.ProfileProperties.GetByName(

"UUID");if (profileProperty != null)

  profileProperty.PropertyValue = "SomeValue";
