We are trying to use Global Resources on our DNN 4.7.x module with Asp.net 2.0 and IIS 6 or 7 (sorry I'm new at this place.) Whenever I write the code to reference the globals (xxx.text = Resources.referenceFile.Reference) it comes up fine on the intellisense and can detect it fine, but when I run it I get the following error:

base {System.IO.IOException} = {"Could not load file or assembly 'App_GlobalResources' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.":"App_GlobalResources"}

Message = "Could not load file or assembly 'App_GlobalResources' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

I know I'm doing the standard reference correctly because I wrote a test app (not DNN based) and it got the value fine. Is there a special way that DNN reads Global Resource files? I put the files in the DNN Global_resources as well as in the project, but I keep getting the same error. Is there a common fix to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA
