Hi,

Is there any limit on the no of roles a user can have in DNN?

I am using DNN 4.5.2 framework andhaving this issue,  a particular user has aroun 73 Roles associated.  After adding few more roles ( making it ti around 76 Roles) , the user is unable to log into the system.

The Exception logged is "Inlvalid value for 'encrypted ticket parameter' .

I have  googled and i find mostly that this could be because of cookie issue , i tried clearing all cache , cookies and all temp file on the user machine and treid accesing it still failed.

how ever if i  delet some roles associated to the user ( it made it come till 73 ) then the user is able to log in , i also checked if its becuase of a specific name in the Role , but it was not so.

Can any one guide me on what could be the issue.

Thanks and Regards,

My guess regarding the symptom you are listing is that with that high of a number there is an error encrypting the role values to the cookie that is used to save them.

I am not aware of any limitation of DNN, however, 73 roles is MANY more than I have ever had a client need inside a DNN installation.
