I'm trying to customize the Documents Module (i've downloaded and installed the SOURCE version) but my site acts like it's using a compiled DLL instead of the code in my codebehind .vb files. I am adding a "UserId" parameter so that it only returns documents "owned" by the logged in user. I've gotten the SQL procedures changed fine, but can't seem to get the code in my documents to recognize my changes. I've searched out all the locations of "GetDocuments" (the method name) and updated it, rebuilt the site, but it doesn't seem to run my code.

To test, I put a "response.stop" in the page_load method of the  module, and not even that causes any change.

Any ideas?

Chet

A little more information:

I do notice there is a dotnetnuke.modules.documents.dll file in the "\bin" folder that is not updating when i build myproject... in fact, shouldn't I not even NEED this file since i'm using the full source documents code? Do I just un-reference it to get things to point to my own code in the DesktopModules/Documents folder?

Chet,

I too have run across this problem in the past.  It ususally occurs when I have installed the source version of a module after installing the PA version of it some time before.  So, I do believe that the dll you have found is the issue.  I don't know if there is a way to un-reference the file, so I would try copying it out of the bin folder and then re-build your project.  That may just do it.
