I want to add a new list to the list table (no problem, easily done)

I want to add a new profile property (no problem, easily done)

I want the new list to be the data source for the new profile (not quite as easy)

I get the concept that I'd create a new entry in the datatype list. And I've tried taking the DNNCountryEditListControl.vb file and just modiying it to aim at my new list with a new namespace etc, and stuck that file in app_code folder, and using that as my datatype, but that didn't work. Need a little help with how to go about this part. Feel like I'm sorta close but no cigar. Maybe I'm not as close as I think.

What do you mean by the list will be the datasource for the profile?

Do you mean like a user type?

I am sured, Michael is talking about creation a list as source for the options in a dropdownlist like countries, where Countries is somewhat special due to IP detection and depepnding regions.

Michael, did you notice that there is a custom list editor built in? Simply create a new profile property of type list and in next step enter the values you want to offer?

Reading it again I think you're right Sebastian.  I hadn't paid much attention thinking the easily done bits Michael mentioned where just that - as I knew the list is a profile property type and easily done!
