I am new to dnn, i want to know how to develop fairly size application as dnn custom module, the main task is to present a bill to my customer for payment, this includes creating customers, invoices and setup invoice type and department that handles these invoices.  Do i need to have a module for just customers and another module for invoices? Can i put all my functionalaties in one module? Can i have as many view/edit controls as i need within the module? If possible please give me a quick outline to how to structure this type of custom module.

With the flexibility of DNN, you can make modules in just about any fashion you want to. If you want to have multiple usercontrols that do different things and have tabs (in your module) switch between them, that can be done.

If you want to use edit controls via the action menu (like where the delete and setting module options are at) to add and edit information, that can work too.

I've done both methods, each have their pros and cons.

For how to create your module; It depends on how you design it.
I have systems where I have separate modules for nearly everything and others where almost everything is tied together in a single module.
Both work great. :)

 Baatezu, Thanks for the reply.

It seems natural to me to use the menu to navigate to different tabs and functionality, but i like also to know your other suggestion, do you mean the tabs will load different controls, so tabs must know which control to load and parameters to pass to the control?

 http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/Misc/ModuleNavigationOptions.htm

That link (adefwebserver.com is a good reference and resource site in general) has 4 different types of navigation for the module. They all, effectively allow the same thing, but they do it in different ways, obviously.

It has helped me on occasion, and will hopefully help you too.
