I have a custom module that uses some javascript to open another window.  This window causes parent window to loose ad authentication and refresh and close to root of portal.  Any clues as to why?

<script language="javascript">
function launchLog(strFid){
 var strBar = 'directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,titlebar=no,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes,width=800,height=600,resizable=yes';
 var strLoc = 'https://mySite/DesktopModules/Wrallp.fileManager/viewFileLog.aspx?pid=445&fil=0&fid=' + strFid;
 var winEdit = open(strLoc,'FileActionLog',strBar);
 }
</script>
