I created a DNN4.3.3/C# test module and successfully installed/used it on my web site.  I then made changes in the module via VS2005 and now I want to update the definition on my web site to reflect those changes.  However, I don't see an "Update Module Definition" or similar function within the Host functions (unless the heat is affecting my sight).  I see how to add/delete modules but not update.

Thus, my question:  how do I update an existing custom module definition?

Thanks!

Troy

Well, when you go to Host > Module Definitions, by each module there is a little pen, click on it and you will get a screen for edit

Thanks for your timely & informative assistance.

So I click on the Edit button.....then what?  It shows Add Definition and Delete Definition but no Update Module Definition.  Even the Edit button for the individual ASCX controls doesn't enable an Update Defintion function (from what I can tell).

I get the feeling this task is something that is not normally done, which I find baffling.

I've checked it now, and really you cannot edit a module definition (at least I haven't seen a way)... hmm... strange that I didn't notice that till now.

The only option I see is to delete the definition and re-add it. As for the controls, you can edit them, but if you want to assign them to a new definition you will have to re-add them when you create a new definition.

You can also update the DesktopModules table using the SQL Page (From the menu go to Host then SQL)

For example, the following script will update a module called Things4Sale to have a business controller and indicate that it supports additional interfaces:

UPDATE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}DesktopModules
SET
BusinessControllerClass = 'ADefwebserver.Things4Sale.Things4SaleController',
SupportedFeatures = 3
WHERE (FriendlyName = 'Things4Sale')
