Hi DNN Developers,

I'm wondering if someone can help me out on this. I have downloaded and installed the latest version (4.3.5) of the source code and loaded the project into VS 2005. I have successfully built and installed the DNN website and database and everything is fine.

Problem is every time I rebuild the solution is does so for each project. As most of these do not need to be rebuilt every time I want to test some changes, I would like to configure my solution to only rebuild those that I need. However, if I remove the projects from the solution it also removes the dll files from the bin directory. There has to be a way around this, no?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Go to Build --> Configuration Manager

Specify the projects you'd like to build.

Thanks ProfessorCW1,

I'll have a play and see what works. Is there any way to remove the project from the solution and still keep the dll in bin directory?

Thanks  again.

Steve

Steve,

You're not actually "removing" the project from the solution.  When unchecking a project in Configuration Manager, you are really just telling Visual Studio not to build that project right now.  Unselected projects are still part of the solution and their dlls are still in the bin directory.  You are simply omitting them from the build process so it doesn't take so long to compile the solution.
