Hi,

The Store module version 02.01.20 beta is available at Codeplex!

This should be the last beta version before submiting the module to the release tracker. You have one week (not a day more) to report bugs (if any), then I will submit the module.

All gateway providers has been reviewed for a better workflow at checkout. Moreover, the module is now XHTML compliant. Because I have rewrited all style sheets and template files, MAKE A BACKUP of your files BEFORE upgrade!!! For details about changes, look at the file History.txt inside the zip.

At last, a dratf of the new Templating Guide is available for web designers!

Hi, I installed the beta and found that I ended up with broken  images on my store.

I was using the version that came with the last full release of DNN and have my language settings set to Australian.
Looking at the html of the page, it looks like the new version looks for the images with the country, but only the FR and US images are included.

It was a simple fix to copy and rename images from purchaseimg_en-US.gif to purchaseimg_en-AU.gif but it may be wise to include some notification that this would be needed. people with out any HTML knowledge may be very impacted by this update otherwise.
It's not really a bug I guess, but something people need to be aware of.

Thanks for a great module :)

Marcus.

PS- I like the "AddToCart_blue_2" buttons better than the standard ones, but there is no "BuyNow_blue_2" button so I can't use that or they look unmatched (and my photosop skills suck). Is there a chance of adding the BuyNow 2 button image as well to the final release?

Hi Marcus,

This is not a bug but a new feature! As you know it, the localization is a major feature of dnn. Previously, it was not possible to have localized graphics buttons. Now, you can!

In my post you can read:

At last, a dratf of the new Templating Guide is available for web designers!

In the chapter 3 of this guide, you can read:

All texts used with labels and links generated by tokens are defined in the resource file ProductDetail.ascx. To facilitate the translation, the names of image buttons are also defined in this resource file (like addtocartimg_{0}.gif in AddToCartImg.Text) and the current language code (e.g.: en-US, fr-FR, ...) is added to the end, to build the full file name (addtocartimg_en-US.gif). You have to create your local version of image buttons to translate the Store module into a defined language. A Photoshop model (buttons.psd) is provided in the folder Images to help you create your own localized buttons.

Moreover, Benoît (my Co-Lead) have bloged about the new features two month ago!

It's always the same story with users. When they do not have documantation, they cry and complain. When I use my 3 weeks of holidays to write a full doc about templating, they do not read it.... and complain! ;-) It's not fair! The next time, I will stay on the beach instead to be in front of my computer.

Concerning the "AddToCart_blue_2" button, I'm sorry but I loosed the psd file after a crash disk several month ago! Then, I can't help you on this. But you can found a lot of button models on the Internet for free. Search for "button psd" with Google.

Hi Gilles,

Please don't misunderstand. I wasn't "crying and complaining". I worked out where my problem lay and fixed it myself.

I just thought it may be wise to include a warning for users who wouldn't be able to fix this by themselves.  The documentation is good and very complete, but people who aren't web designers will not read to chapter three of a web design template guide to find this before they install the new version.  My suggestion was simply that such a radical change may need to be mentioned a little more prominantly or I am sure this forum will get a lot of repeated questions about this. Maybe it would be wise to make a note of this in the first post where the new version is announced.

Again, it's a great module, and your time is very appreciated. I was only offering what I thought was a helpful suggestion.

Marcus.

Hi does this new version allow you to add attributes to a product ... ie if I want to sell a t-shirt this module doesn't support it as the user cannot choose a size? Help would be appreciated else I think it will have to be some simple coding to be used in place of this.
