Hi Giles

I am evaluating the Store (v3) module on a localhost install of DNN 6.1
My question is about the checkout pages.
My requirement is to sell tickets. I really do not need many of the default fields in the billing section but this are is not templated ?
In fact most of this section is not required for an anonymous ticket purchase or for any download product.

As these fields are all required a simple visible=false statement hacked into the storecheckout.aspx will not work so I am not sure how to proceed

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Currently you can't! I will change that in a future version. IMHO, the first name, last name and email fields should be mandatory, what do you think about this?

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Giles

In terms of an anonymous purchase I do not see why any fields should be required.
I suppose that the most flexible solution would be to make it possible to select which fields are required although I can see how this might add a lot of complexity to the transaction logic.

 Thanks

Hi Ian,

For downloadable products a DNN user account is required because you have to be authenticated to be able to download the product, then First Name, Last Name and Email are already filled when you create your account and those fields are required by DNN.

Even to sell tickets, how can you sell something if you don't have at least a name and an email? What if your event is canceled, how can you join your clients?

For me First Name, Last Name and Email is the bare minimum, in the next version you will be able to disable any address fields but not those one.

Gilles
