I have just started using the DNN Newsletter and found that non of my images or links to the DNN Portal itself will work.  The images are gone and the links want you to find a link manager.

The reason seems to be that DNN strips out the www.911TruthGroups.org/ root portion off of the front of any image or link anything that is within the DNN site.  While this makes sense for html on the sites web page it makes no sense in an email newsletter.

Since I can find no posts about the newsletter I can either assume that there is some setup issues that I have failed to set properly.

Can someone put me back on the path?

Thanks,

Mike

you know what.  I have exactly the same problem and have not been able to correct it.  So if someone has an idea that's more complete then the site/alias workaround, let me know.

FYI... the site alias workaround involves:

1. goto the portal screen

2. add an alias to the site different than the one you are using (make sure this is added to your dns... like a news.x.com instead of www.x.com

3. write your newsletter and instert an image... use the alias name instead of the main one when connecting.

I found this problem 3 years ago and raised it in Gemini, but I think it got lost ;)

I fix it by removing the www. when I am editing my newsletter, so all relatively links work in webmail (they work in Outlook express though as is).

So for example, if I have http://www.pokerDIY.com I make it http://pokerDIY.com and it leaves those alone...

Is this the issue? (please confirm)
http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?m=1&id=4191

If so it appears to be in the wrong forum and I need to contact somebody about this.

If it isn't please log the issue in gemini (with full detail please).

Thanks

Is this not an issue with the editor and not the core? If the editor is configured to use realtive url's it will do so in every module that uses it right?
