Hi

As U all may have noticed, the future is coming just a day after each day...
I was thinking about the plans about web2 and the future of the web. My guess is that the future is in the MS Media-Center, transferring all users from PCs to TVs, to PPCs, to Cell Phones ets...

Is there any thought about this?
What are the steps taken in the core team, for this shift from PC to TV?
Is DNN ready for the future? Is it here to stay?
Or is the whole idea of web sites going to change completely?

As I see it, the best time to start thinking about the above Medias, and the new standards of Media-Center - is now.
Will be glad to hear some opinions...

Thanx!

Personally I believe that we are still a ways away from that type of interface shift, however I could be wrong.

From the way I see it DNN is moving forward in a way that will keep the product successful.  From what I understand the new version will support ASP.NET AJAX which is a big item to support with the trends in web 2.0.

I would like to suggest to the Core Team that they bring back the support for Mobile devices.  I know that it was not perfect in the past but it worked reasonably well.  As Shaiden said and everybody knows, Web access on mobile devices is growing a lot and many companies are not taking advantage of that growth because of the difficulties of dealing with that media.  ASP.Net 2.0 offers a great solution for that as you know with its automated detection of browser capabilities and adaptive rendering.

Or at least, give DNN the ability to detect the client and if it is a mobile device, allow me to redirect to another site of my own making with mobile support.  This approach I don't think would take a lot of work, just detect and redirect to a URL I specify.

In my opinion mobile support would open more doors for DNN (not that it is not a great product already).
