Why can't I search these forums by the forum names, like "chat about it"? I really liked the old forums that used to be on www.asp.net , this forum is SO much harder to browse and search for topics. I real step down in the past year or so.

Or  am I just being difficult?

No, you're not being difficult. I think there are some changes coming soon to help out but in the mean time take a look at the post here to help you out, http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/112/threadid/121155/scope/posts/Default.aspx.

Is the forums engine associated with ASP.net available for use and has it ever been integrated with DotNetNuke before?

Unless I am mistaken, the forum engine on ASP.net is CommunityServer... I am not sure that it is possible to integrate it with DNN.

Even with the coming DNN forum version improvements, I feel that the CS forum is vastly superior.

I miss it too.
