Hi, I'd like to use client-side javascript inside Text/HTML modules that reference IMG tags between different modules. This in order to change the IMG src on the fly without using server-side code. Can it be done? If so, how?

As a simple test, I tried to add the following javascript to a Text/HTML module, and using HTML mode it works, but it strips the script part after clicking 'Edit Text' in the module (after saving):

function setMainImage()
{
t add the javascript normally!!)

Any help on how to stop the parsing of the HTML (in DNN or the module) would be very helpful here, TIA

Pieter

Under the "Settings" for the module. Add it to the header or footer elements!

I have a blog about this at http://www.mitchelsellers.com

Thanx Mitchel, it works fine now, although with some tags in the HTML (like xxx) the href is prepended by some URL. A button () works fine though. Haven't tried other tags yet.

BTW, couldn't find your specific blog - what's the URL? TIA

Suggestion DNN Core Team: I'd like a bigger header/footer box for editing... or even better a specific javascript editor in place! Would IMO be a nice and very useful addition to the next release! :-)

Suggestion 2 DNN Core Team: add a button to insert (javascript) code in forum comments. Or if that's already there, how should I make it work? TIA

Pieter

Oh yes, the article was specifically talking about google analytics...but it works for any javascript or other items.  http://mitchelsellers.com/Blogs/tabid/54/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/53/Adding-Google-Analytics-to-DotNetNuke.aspx
