Does anyone know of stable modules running under 4.4.1 for local weather and also one which maps and displays the location of registered users? I've seen these on sites in the past but nothing recently that I can locate. Looking for suggestions for both of these with demo sites if possible.

Thanks!

I'm not sure about the weather module, but here is a map module. I have not used it, so I can not vouch for it, just one that I ran across in the past.

Free Yahoo weather rss feed based module. Works well.

I have a similar one coming out soon that is also rss yahoo based, just a different architecture and a few more options.

My version of the Yahoo! Weather module will be posted (beta) by the end of the holiday weekend on my site.

  • Written in VB.
  • XSL used for transforming feed is an embedded resource.
  • View and Edit are AJAX enabled (must switch it on manually in module definitions due to a current bug not picking up the supports partial rendering tag in the .dnn file).
  • Measurement scale can be switched by users (AJAX).
  • The 3 different sections can be turned off/on in Edit.
  • Multiple locations can be defined in Edit, users can select from one of those locations.
  • Images are PNG based so transparencies work (IE 6 and lower do not apply).
  • More current details calculates wind speed and direction (via the XSL file).

Feedback will be greatly appreciated.
