I'm concerned about the load-time for a DotNetNuke Web site.  I listened to Shaun Walker in a pod cast from February talking about significant improvements, but I still have my doubts.

I need to develop a new version of a clinical information system using DNN 4.5.  One small piece of this involves many forms that patients fill out and I thought I might be able to extend the Survey module for these.  In my first version of this program I wrap a dataset in a patient object and save it to session and, once the forms are completed, serialize the patient object to a temporary file on SQL Server.  The object is de-serialized by the physician, who reviews the data, makes changes or not, and commits the data to a database.

I like the idea of dynamic Web forms in DNN.  But what will the performance be with a data-heavy application?  I can cache the form questions, but there's also a lot of personal data that needs to be saved another way. Can DNN handle this situation without a lot of wait-time?  The DNN applications I've seen seem very simple or if not simple, then very slow.

I'm not being critical, just looking for enlightenment.  Thanks.

Momenee
