I am using GoDaddy for my web host and they won't let me use the Web Administrator Tool so they told me to use DotNetNuke. Okay call me an idiot, but I have no clue as to what I need to do to install it and configure it.

I downloaded the starter kit and unzipp it and it has a bunch of zipped files.  I extracted all those files in folder named the same as the extract files. Now I don't see how to install it and set it up.

Any help would be nice.

Well, what exactly are you trying to do on Godaddy first?

Do you know what DNN is? Were you planning on Installing DNN to begin with, but Godaddy won't preinstall it for you? Or were you trying to get to something else and they directed you to DNN?

If your goal is to use DNN, you'll probably want to download the INSTALL package, not the starter kit, that's for development.

Greenflash has a great tutorial on this....I just can't find a link to it.  Hopefully he can get you a link as godaddy installations are different than normal to get them right.

GoDaddy had me install the DotNetNuke on my hosting account, because I need to be able to set roles. Like I do with the Visual Web Developer ASP.Net Web Site Administration Tool. So they told me to download it and install it on the system I develop on and to use it to configure my roles in my web.config file, and they told me all I would have to do is upload it to the hosting account and my site would work.

What I want to do on my site is: Have users that go to the site sign up for a membership. The site has three levels of users, administrator, users and anonymous users. anonymous users are restricted, and the users are allowed to view and use the how site and downloads.
