Hi DNN Pro's

www.dotnetnuke.com has over 154000 pages indexed in Google and this makes me think of how large is the MS SQL database that is hosting the www.dotnetnuke.com MS SQL installation ?

My site has over 50000 pages indexed and I use the database for secure storage of downloads and it size is a little over 300 Mb. That is tiny for a SQL database compared to the size of some databases I see at clients (not running Dotnetnuke).

Ok, I have some installations that is taking 2,5 GB and consist only of 150 webpages .... there is probably a lot of data in the log table of visitors and so .... I have to dig into it when our harddrives are about to finish ...

Greetings John ~

Our Production database is approximately 2,900 MB (we run DNN without modification or special configuration).

The following statistics are relevant:

  • Users ~ 433,000
  • Blogs ~ 1,000
  • Files 4,700
  • Forum Posts ~ 134,000
  • Project Tracker Annotations ~ 9,000
  • Pages (Tabs) ~ 400
  • TabModules ~ 2,300

When considering results from Google, etc. an indexable item may be the same item with different methods of navigation or simply multiple detail "pages" (e.g. blog entries) that actually exist on one DNN page (but have unique friendly urls).

Cheers,
Scott
