Newbie

I appologize in advance for any stupid questions I ask. . . I can't seem to figure out how to place a pic into my DNN page - or how to make a certian picture become my background "wallpaper". I can't seem to figure out much other than what my company's tech guy has already downloaded onto our DNN site. Where do I find different modules, boxes, backgrounds, layouts??? It might be that I'm having a hard time navigating the website, if not simply because I don't really know all the language. . . again I appoligize for my ignorance, but any help would be welcome!

Don't feel bad - DNN can be confusing to somebody never used it before. First you need to upload the image you want at the "Files" section (Top right, under commom tasks) Click on "Upload" and browse to the image file in your computer or CD, wherever the image you want. Once it is in the system, you can go to the page that you want to publish that image and Add a new module (make it HTML module, choose from the top of that page and click add). Once you have the module go into "edit text" you will see a little icon to insert images (make sure you are in "Rich Text Editor" mode.) Your image galery will pop up and you can inswert the image by clicking on it.

If you want it as background image: go to Admin/settings and Body Background - locate the image from the drop down menu and set it as background.

Background image is tricky, you need to play with different sizes to make it perfect. You may wanna contact the webmaster for this.

Hope this helps... good luck!

Nihan,

please notice: if you granted write permission for the folder, where you would like to store the image (use file manager in admin menu for this purpose) you can upload images from inside the HTML editor and (nearly) any other edit form, where you would  like to select the image.
