Oh thanks. Sicne i did not see a windows option on the front page i assumed there was not one. So you just put all your own software on the box like SQL Server? First time I ever heard of a hosting company doing that before, but I've never went dedicated before either except on machines owned by the compaines I worked for and installed on site.

This looks interesting. I'm guessing you can just remote desktop into the machine and do with it as you please? I found thiis one last night that also looks like it may work, but I don't know anything about the company behind it http://www.fullcontrol.net/?page=truvirtual.aspx

Yes, my personal setup with godaddy allows me to remote desktop, ftp, etc...and i have full control.  And no they do not provide any software to start with, i'm guessing that is pretty standard with other companies as well.

Full control looks pretty good, they are slightly more expensive but seem to offer more service than go daddy -- but again, like you mentioned, we don't know anything about the company itself.

Here are two pages with some reviews .... not too much info, but a little is better than nothing....

I'm leaning towards FullControl.net. The main thing I'm concerned about with Godaddy is the space which is only 10Gigs and 384Megs of ram for GoDaddy and that does not offer additional resources at least on the signup pages.  Since I don't know squat about VPS plans can you answer me this. Does the hard drive space include the OS? 10 Gigs would be okay as long as the OS files where not part of it. Installing MSSQL and the web log files could grow beyond that in a little while.

I did find this about FullControl and it seems VBCity is hosted there http://vbcity.com/forums/topic.asp?tid=122663

Bruce,
You might want to check MaximumAsp.net. They offer a true VPS plan, as well as a hybrid that is pretty interesting too.

I've been with them for several yrears as a VPS client and now with many dedicated servers.

They are great, and I can't think of a negative to offer up.

Yeh, I have considered MaximumAsp, afterall dotnetnuke.com is hosted there, but they are a little higher on their prices than I want to pay initally for the options available.
