Well, after Apple's announcement today about releasing Safari on Windows, I just had to try it out. Overall, I am very impressed. Sites do indeed seem to load faster. There are a few glitches that still need to be worked out, like incorrect rendering of the filemanager (incorrect behavior for div overflow) and the inability to display the FCK editor. But overall, it is a good start. I think that once Apple gets this thing into final form and the DNN team can work with it a little more to iron out any issues on our side, that I may have a new browser that finally replaces IE7.

Joe,

How does it compare to FireFox in terms of rendering sites?  Not necessarily DNN specific.

I have not used either Safari or FireFox enough to say with certainty.  I went to a number of sites with Safari, and until I went into the admin pages for DNN, I had no rendering issues.  I did find that it was rendering sites very quickly although that may be just the difference between how pages are rendered.  I found that IE appears to wait for more of the page to download before actually start rendering while Safari appears to start rendering much sooner, even if the layout changes as more of the page completes downloading.

A good question is how does Safari for Windows compare to Safari for Mac ... ie if a website (DNN or not) renders correctly on Safari Windows, can we assume that it also renders correctly on Safari Mac - probably not I guess.
