Hi,

me and a friend of mine were just wondering if it is possible to change the look of the template (e.g. the companylogo) in the browser.

Imagine this:

I do a clean install of DNN. On the homepage I see the standard startpage of DNN with the logo of DNN in the left corner.  I have no other software to change the skin (htm) file.

If I log in as an editor I can now change the locations of the modules on the site, even drag them to different panes on the page. But now I want to e.g. change the DNN logo to the logo of my own company. Would this be possible from the browser? You would think that if the technique is available, why wouldn't it be possible to change the overall look of the site?

Well please let me know... thanks...

  • to change the logo in the default skin or any skin applied, that used the DNN [Logo] Skin Object, you can specify the logo file in site settings
  • to alter the skin of your site over all, you can get a Skin package (for free or cash) from any Skin developer or create it yourself (please refer to the skinning guide for details) and upload it using host :: settings, Site :: Settings, Host :: Skins or Admin :: Skins menue item.

Yes I know about the skins, but please try to imagine that I have no knowlegde at all about html, css skins etc and I don't know where to buy them. It would not be possible for me to change the look of my site?

If this is not possible, i am really wondering why the choice is made to not implement this feature, because i can change everything in the browser then except for the look of the site? This just seems a bit strange to me..

Of course I have, but this changes only the image, not e.g. the position. Also it does not anwser my question of why it isn't implemented, I mean there must be some reason why this feature was not implemented?! Or didn't anybody think of that while planning the software?
