I have heared of several people having ideas for this using various approaches (including cardspace) but I am not aware of any available solution.

I think Daniel Bartholomew is working on getting Cardspace to work with DNN see http://www.dbartholomew.net/Default.aspx?TabId=37

There is also some internal discussion around incorporating Windows Live ID (the successor to Passport) and OpenID.  We'll let you know as these efforts proceed.  Our first step however is to abstract out the Authentication provider so that it will be easy to use one or more different authentication services (DNN, Active Directory, LDAP, OpenID, CardSpace, Live ID).  This first step is already underway with the help of Hike Horton on the AD team.
