Hey,

I'm looking at developing a few web applications with DNN.  One of my requirements is to be able to use SVN with any portals that I create.  The approach I am considering is to put the following into SVN:

  1. Custom modules I develop
  2. Custom skins I develop
  3. Export each portal to a portal template, and put this and the assocated resource file into the repository

Is this the way most people go about it?  Is there anything else that I am missing?  For example do I also need to backup/export part of the DNN database?

Thanks,

Cayne

I use source control (Vault) to do the first item on your list.  I just use standard integration methods to accomplish it!

I am having a similar struggle using TFS. I am unsure of how to check-in items in the DesktopModules folders and any skins I develop without checking in the entire DNN isntallation. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
