I want to know if anyone can tell me about pro and CONS if I  was to deside to use DNN for a social network nieche. My primary reason for wanna use it is the brilliant CMS system and mangement, but I very worried about performance- loadtimes, scalability. I even find DNN.com slow many time.

How is DNN in terms of performence when handleling many types of dynamic personalized info. (like facebook, myspace, hi5 in minor scale thought;-)

We are going to have appex 2-3000 online at the same time at any given moment and i am worried about limitation in that framework.  Monthly pagevies are about 5 millions.

(Online user definition 2500  = 500 concurrent users. 1 online user is actively doing something every 5th second)

Do anybody have any feedback on this .Examples or just plain good advice.

All the best

Martin

Martin,

DNN is higly scalable and  performing well, if it is configured appropriate. Sites like nfl.com.au proove it.

The mothership has issues, as the load has been growing constantly and the site is still sitting on a single server - which shall be replaced by a web farm shortly.

hmmm.. for some reason http://nfl.com.au/ is dead and http://www.nfl.com.au/ is something else from pre-history.

I do recall the site.. it was green looking and featured in the newsletter recently? Was it rugby or football?

Rob

Edit: yes it's http://nrl.com.au/
