I'm trying to accomplish something similar to the following, and can't seem to figure out a way to handle this with DNN, and may have to develop it myself:

Roles:
-  Admin
-  Contributor:  When they are bumped up to "Contributor" status, they will need the ability to edit their own user page, which should always be public.  They may post in the forums as well.
-  User:  This person is allowed to post in the forums.  They can view all contributor pages
-  Non-Auth'ed:  This person can view all forums and pages.

Process flow:
-  Person signs up and immediately becomes a valid forum user.
-  After a certain period of time, the administrator "flips the switch" so they can be a contributor.
-  The contributor will be allowed to maintain a page about themselves that any visitor will be able to view
-  This page would preferrably be restricted to a certain format, asking specific questions, and each page would appear consistently structured (image in upper-right, short blurb left of picture, specific other information below).
-  Clicking the contributor's username in the Forums module will open a profile containing a link to the user's "contributor page", or better yet, automatically links right to the page (i.e. a profile page)
-  The contributor pages should be searchable.   The searcher should be able to search specific fields as well as "all fields".  Example:  A user wants to search all of these profiles and they're interested in checking the "Programs in..." field for "C#" or "VB.NET".

That is about the gist of it, but I can't seem to figure out how this will work with the modules available - I took a look at the blog module and seems to almost want to do what I'm trying for.  I'm hoping someone can help!  Thanks in advance.

user home pages are not supported by the core. have a look at the Marketplace and www.snowcovered.com for 3rd party solutions.

There is a module called MyProfiles available on SnowCovered.Com.

It has pretty much everything you're looking for.  Please note the developer hasn't done a release in awhile but is still active sometimes on www.dnfusion.com

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

I appreciate the help, but from what I noticed there have been no updates to that particular module in 9+ months and there are bad feedback/reviews for most, which tells me that this module isn't quite done yet.  If there was a way to take a test drive of the module to make sure I can administer it exactly how I would like, then I would, but I just can't see paying for something that I'm not 100% sure will do what I need.  Thanks again for the help guys, but I think I'm going to go back to having to develop this myself.

You might also look at the modules provided by SmartThinker as they have some if not all of the items you are looking for.
