The Situation: Our company allows it's employees to spend $300.00 on uniforms every 2 years. The company "credits" the employee with $300.00. The employee then selects which clothes, sizes and colors they want from a list with prices. The total amount is deduction from the $300.00 the company then purchases the clothes for the employee.

The Proposal: Instead of having to keep this information in excel spreadsheets and employees have to go look in a magazine a the available clothes, I would like to be about the set up a simulation e-commerce site in which users would start with a blanace of $300.00 "Company Bucks" and be able to "checkout" then have this list sent to the department that actually orders the clothes.

The Problem: I have tried using DNN commerce modules and other CMS e-commerce modules, but I can't seem to find one that will allow me to Give a buyer "credits" and allow a puchase to be made using only those credits.

The Solution: Thats what I'm hoping you all can help me with.

Thanks in advance,
-Nathan

Nathan,

I think about the only solution for this type of issue is to create a custom module as I am not aware of ANY module that allows credits...

Thanks Mitch,

Unless someone else has a suggestion, I guess I'm going to have to brush up on my vb.net and tackle this the hard way huh?

I'll try to see if I can get anywhere with this.

I actually built this using the DNN store module (well, we heavily modified ours) for the company I used to work for.  I don't know if they would sell any code, or even give any for that fact, but if your company wanted to engage their services (fullfillment, online catalog, etc) then I could put you in contact with some people.  Deployment times are pretty fast too.  We had a site that used this, http://www.shamrockresource.com/panduit

company store, we called them e-bucks, but same thing.  The customer had a certain amount of money they could spend (on multiple trips no less), and if they exceeded it, it would force the remaining balance to be picked up by credit card.

I still have "snippets" that would be able to help you with the store module.  I certainly can't release full source code as I don't own it.  but I certainly remember enough to know how it was done.  (it was tricky.. and keep in mind the store module is C# not VB.Net)

HTH,

Chris

Chris,

Thanks for all of your input on this matter, I'm exploring some other options before purchasing anything mainly because this is a non-urgent project that is actually on more of a wish-list.

However I do like the overall concept of the Panduit site.

Thanks again to you and Mitch,

-Nathan
