There are so many .dll files that are not used any more. When uninstalling a module I always select "delete files", but not all the dll files get deleted.

Now if I try to delete ANY unused .dll files I get an error message "Service not available". I had to put the file back to bring the site back.

What is going wrong? I am running dnn4.8.1. Please help.

you will need to trace down, which .dll throws the error when being deleted. make sure, not to delete provider dll that is still in use.

Thanks for the reply.

ANY .dll I tried to delete throws the error. I was very careful and only tried to deleted those very obviously unused .dll files.

It's not like I can delete some of the unused .dll files. I can not delete ANY unused .dll files.

Help...
