When I look in at the User Agent report in Admin | Site Log - I never see any evidence of the standard Googlebot stopping by.  I do see Mediapartners-Google and that is correct according to this site http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=40364 because I have Adsense on my site.

Google Webmaster tools reports that my site was last crawled on Mar 30, 2008 - yet my site log does not show it.  Is there some special case code in there somewhere?

Best wishes,
