 Hi,

I have to display several lists of companies

A General list showing all companies
A list of just those in Finance
A list of just those in Science and Technology
A list of those in Manufacturing

My first approach would be to create 4 UDTs but that would mean keeping two records updated for every company. Is there a module available like the UDT which will allow me to create a single table but to filter it for the different menu tabs on 'ALL', 'FINANCE' etc?

The crippler is that each company profile has more than 30 fields. I've found several modules which look promising but the number of fields in each record is limited (below 30). Can anyone help please?

Regards

Hi Rae,

You might be able to create a UDT, use this same module instance on multiple pages, and select a different XSL transform for each page that filters by list type.  In such a setup, you would only need to maintain your data once (in the "All" UDT), and the other XSL transforms would take care of the filtering.

The only thing that I'm not sure of here is whether you are able to specify a different transform on a per-tabmodule basis, or if the setting is per module instance.  You'll have to do some experimentation -- if it's the latter, then my idea is moot.  Looking at a UDT module settings page would seem to indicate that it would work, however.

Hope this helps!

Brandon

Which modules were you looking at that limit fields to less than 30?

Xmod will do what you want.

Hi Brandon,

Thank you for that suggestion. I know very little about XSLT but, for what I need to do, I suspect that the learning curve is shorter on this than it might be with xMod (see later post ).

Thanks again.
Rae

If yóu are going to use the built in XSL generator in UDT, you do not need to know about XSL at all
